Africa minimum wage 2026: the highest functioning floor is about eight times the lowest. Two of the largest economies barely have one at all.
Across the African countries with reliable wage data, the monthly minimum runs from about USD 38 in Ghana to roughly USD 382 in Mauritius. The wider story is what sits outside that range: frozen 1984 floors, countries with no private-sector minimum, and currencies that erase a raise faster than any ministry can sign one.
